The show is based on the well-known story by Robert Louis Stevenson. In the fall of 1888, London-based Dr. Henry Jekyll (Paul Gurba) believes that he has developed a formula to isolate the evil part of people's personalities and can ultimately create a society of "good." His friend, John Utterson (Corey Levi), and fiancé, Emma Carew (Jill Britton), have supported him in his endeavors when no one else has.
When the local hospital's Board of Governors (Katie Augustitus, Richard Brown, Theo Deptula, Brady Haupt, Nick McWilliams and Graeme Shappell) refuses to allow him a human test subject, Dr. Jekyll takes matters into his own hands and conducts the experiment on himself, despite words of discouragement from Utterson and Sir Danvers Carew, Emma's father (Anthony Anonia). Unfortunately the experiment goes awry and Jekyll's evil-natured alter ego, Edward Hyde, evolves. Matters are complicated further when both Jekyll and Hyde find themselves drawn to Lucy (Angela Kinder), a local actress.
As Jekyll fights to keep Hyde's persona from overtaking him, the citizens of London are on high alert for a murderer on the loose. Will the police be able to track down the killer? Will steadfast Emma or adoring Lucy ultimately win Jekyll's heart? Will good or evil prevail?
