ELYSBURG - The Elysburg Garden Club invites area residents to participate in its upcoming flower show which will be held as part of the annual Ralpho All Home Days celebration, which is held Labor Day weekend in Elysburg.
There are approximately 150 categories to enter, including specimen flowers, potted plants, wildflowers, artistic arrangements and miniature arrangements. Students have their own categories or they may enter the regular categories.
Booklets which list specific requirements are available at the Ralpho and Shamokin-Coal Township public libraries and at Burch's Drug Store in Elysburg.
The theme for the 2012 flower show is "Home for the Holidays."
Entries are due at the flower show building between 7 and 9 p.m. Friday. There are no entry fees or pre-registration. Ribbons will be awarded to the top prize-winning entries.
The flower show will be open to the public following the judging at approximately 1 p.m. Saturday. The show will run from Saturday through Monday. All entries must be picked up between 8 to 9 p.m. Monday. Call 672-3109 with any questions.
Visitors to this year's show are asked to write the name of a loved one on a heart and add it to the displayed trees.
